Introducing Edlira, Commissioner of External Affairs at Queen's University

My name is Edlira Ballaj, and I’m entering my fourth year at Queen’s University, where I  study Political Studies and Life Sciences. I currently serve as the Commissioner of External Affairs for the Alma Mater Society (AMS), where I lead student advocacy efforts at the institutional, municipal, provincial, and federal levels. From discussing housing rights to advancing reforms in academic support services, I’ve learned that meaningful change happens when students are given both the tools and the space to lead it themselves.

Why Student Advocacy Matters: My Journey with OUSA

By Aaditya Gupta, Vice President of External Affairs, Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU)

When I attended my first OUSA General Assembly in Spring 2024, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I had been involved in student life at Brock University for years, serving as President of the Esports Club, Vice-President of the Anime Club, and a Goodman Ambassador, but this was my first step into the world of provincial advocacy. That GA changed everything for me.
