Hello everyone!
My name is Tobi (she/her) and I’m very excited to be joining OUSA as the Manager of Communications.
I’ve always been passionate about social change and storytelling, which led me to pursue a Double Major in Global Development and English at Huron University (Western University affiliate college). I wanted to gain an interdisciplinary understanding of how to make the world a better, more equitable place while enhancing my communication skills.
Since graduating, I’ve dedicated my time to supporting non-profits addressing causes I’m passionate about, including environmental justice and Black youth empowerment. As someone at the intersection of marginalized identities, advocacy work is a top priority for me. During my time as a student, I witnessed and experienced many of the challenges undergraduates trudge through to cross the graduation line. So, getting the opportunity to support OUSA and represent the interests of students is an exciting next step for me. I’m looking forward to learning from and working with many passionate student leaders in this role!
Outside of work, you can find me exploring the Forest City’s trails, at live music events, or working on one of my numerous craft projects.
Overall, I’m honoured to be joining an incredible and inspiring team and excited to begin my journey with OUSA!
