Introducing Victoria Mills, VP University Affairs at Queen's University

Hi, everyone! My name is Victoria (Vic) Mills, and I am the current Vice President of University Affairs at the Alma Mater Society (Queen’s University).

Last month I graduated with my BScH with a major in Life Sciences, although I’m looking to complete my Certificate in Data Analytics come September. It’s definitely an unconventional mix of disciplines, but I’ve always enjoyed challenging myself in more areas than one! OUSA will very much follow that trend, as well. I have some experience in policy work and since my portfolio pertains to the government side of our student union , I am looking forward to being a non-voting member of this year’s SC and to work/learn alongside other incredible student leaders!

My role at Queen’s allows me to oversee the Campus Affairs, Environmental Sustainability, External Affairs, Clubs, Social Issues (Internal and External) and Orientation commissions. In addition to that, I have the privilege to work regularly with university personnel and community partners. This year, I am grateful to be thoroughly supported by my teams and my other two executives (shoutout Kate and Michelle!). OUSA will be a large focus of mine and I am eager to collaborate on the policy papers that will be written this year. After attending my first Spring General Assembly in 2023 (which Queen’s hosted!), I was in awe of the passion, drive and knowledge student leaders brought to policy discussions. Everyone in the breakout rooms was committed to bettering the student experience and I am thrilled to be a part of this group! OUSA does some incredible things, and I am aiming to make this more known on my campus.

If I’m not in the office, I’m typically working through my book list or curating my next Spotify playlist. I haven’t honed in on any book or music genre, so any suggestions are always more than welcome!
