Introducing Anthony, President at Trent University Durham GTA

Hello everyone! My name is Anthony Coulter, I’m a Political Studies student, I use  He/Him pronouns, and I’m excited to be returning to OUSA Steering Committee as the Trent Durham Student Association representative.

I previously sat on the steering committee in my role as the Vice President External Affairs, and I’m happy to be back now serving as the TDSA’s President. During my time on SC, I represented the students of Trent Durham at various OUSA events, as an author and delegate at General Assemblies, and at OUSA’s provincial lobby week. As a Political Studies student, as well as the years of experience I have within Trent’s student union, I’m excited to be able to bring my expertise and experience back to OUSA’s SC, and look forward to OUSA’s projects this year.

During my tenure as VPEA, I was a member of OUSA’s SC. Outside of OUSA, I’m involved with the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA), where I lobby and advocate on behalf of my students at the federal level. Some of my advocacy wins include helping increase the limit of international student working hours, as well as lobbying to remove interest on Canadian Student Loans. As President, I hope to bring OUSA’s initiatives and the work they do for students back to my campus and university administration.

When I’m not on the clock, you can find me nose deep in a good book, in the kitchen baking and cooking, or doing some creative writing. I can’t wait for what the rest of the year has to offer, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to jump back into the role.
