Hey everyone!
I hope everyone is settled and ready for the Fall semester ahead. If you missed it, we published our latest issue of Educated Solutions. This year we chose to focus on tuition since the current tuition framework is set to expire in 2019. Sector experts and student voices from across Ontario present their ideas and concerns about tuition and post-secondary funding in Ontario.
On September 25, we hosted our annual Training Day at Trent Durham University. We participated in a Blanket Exercise and had the wonderful opportunity to learn more from the First Peoples House of Learning from Trent University. Students also participated in training sessions focused on policy paper and blog writing skills, research methods, and advocating on and off campus.
September and October also mean it’s time for our annual cross-province tour. If you haven’t already seen us on campus, we’ll be coming to let you know more about how we’re advocating for students (and we have some free giveaways as well).
What’s next? OUSA will be hosting our annual Fall General Assembly at McMaster University at the beginning of November. Our authors are busy writing policy papers on Tuition, Technology-Enabled Learning, and Teaching and Assessment.
Until next time,
Danny
