Introducing Kraymr Grenke: Vice-President Finance

Hello all!

My name is Kraymr Grenke and it is privilege and honour to serve as the 2016-17 Vice-President Finance for OUSA.

I am currently in my fourth year at Laurentian University in Sudbury enrolled in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Accounting. My post-secondary education journey started at the University of Western Ontario in 2011, moving on to Seneca College and finally Laurentian where I have now called home for the past 4 years. My journey has been exciting and filled with different opportunities. Having been a post-secondary student at both the university and college level, I have the unique ability to bring the perspective of the needs and issues faced of post-secondary students at both levels.

Being involved with university life has always been a strong passion of mine. This year I dove head first and took things to a new level. Diving in I found myself the Chair of the board for the Students’ General Association. In February, I was fortunate to run a very successful campaign and be elected President for the 2016-17 year. At that moment I was exposed to the wonderful world of the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance. I was fortunate enough to be an observer at the Spring General Assembly hosted at Brock University in March. After I spent the weekend seeing the work that OUSA accomplishes and the incredible conversations that exchanged between some of the brightest minds of student leadership in the country, I made it my presidential goal for the SGA to become a member of OUSA. On May 1, 2016, which happened to be my first day in office, was the SGA’s first day as an official OUSA member. In that short of time my goal became a reality.

As the new kids on the block, Laurentian University Students’ General Association looks to immerse themselves in all of the things OUSA will take on throughout the years to come. We look forward to being a part of some of the crucial topics of conversation that are going to be affecting the post-secondary education sector that are upcoming in the near future.

I look forward to working with the bright and creative minds of my eight colleagues on Steering Committee for this upcoming year, meeting and discussing issues that affect the Post-Secondary Education sector.

Until next time...
