Hello world!
My name is Rachel Crane, but you can call me Rach.
I am in my fourth and final year of the Bachelor of Business Administration program at Brock University. I have enjoyed my time at Brock and have recently been hit with some premature feelings of nostalgia in realizing that my undergrad career is coming to a close. I have also been faced with the realization that I am going to be launched into the “real” working world in a matter of weeks and it is a little daunting. Exciting, but daunting.
Looking back on the breakdown of my student spending habits, I have noticed that I have probably spent more than $7.50 a day on food. I am not a big spender… I just enjoy eating. I love food.
I have accepted a challenge proposed by the Brock University Student Union (BUSU) in collaboration with the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance, or, OUSA. I believe they have selected me to take on this project because I am a typical university student. I hold down a part-time job, I spend way too much time on-campus, and I enjoy traveling and long walks on the beach. Oh, and I like to communicate my life experiences in a ‘critical reflection meets creative’ kind of way, usually in the form of blogs and vlogs.
So, what is this Challenge?
To live off a food allowance of just $7.50 per day!
Can I do it without withering away?
Well… I guess you will just have to watch for the next 19 days to find out.
In the name of healthy, balanced eating on a budget,
Rach
