Last night I made up some chocolate chip banana muffins. The muffin mix cost $3.44 and I only used half of it, which would come to $1.72. The chocolate chips I added cost about $0.82. I also put sliced up a banana and added banana slices to the top of all the muffins before baking so that cost $0.26 for a banana. The 16 muffins that resulted cost $2.80, meaning each muffin is worth about $0.18. I had three for breakfast this morning with a glass of milk. They were delicious, by the way. Today I offered to teach beginner French horn lessons to a fellow student so she offered to pay me in food. I accepted and she bought me lunch at the Scholar. I had a pasta with one helping each of chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes and broccoli/cauliflower mix. It was in a tomato béchamel cream sauce. I also had a chocolate milk that she got me. Then I laid down for a nap when I came home after rehearsal because I wasn’t feeling well and then slept through my alarm by half an hour. Which meant I was really behind because I had to play at a concert tonight so after running around like a chicken with my head chopped off I grabbed 2 cans of Chefboyardee to take with me and ate them backstage, one before the concert and one during intermission. After the concert I got to relax and I had a can of peaches. So my total spending today was $6.13. I had 5 servings of fruit and vegetables, 6 servings of grains, 2 servings of milk and 3 servings of meat.
