Blog 15:
I slept in quite late today for the first time in a while. This, and the fact that I participated in a Blood Donor Clinic Event definitely affected my eating habits today. I had a breakfast/lunch today which consisted of cereal, yogourt, a banana and a snack bar (about $2.50 in total). I had a bigger meal here because I knew that it is important to do so before donating blood (I learned the hard way in the past). However, after that, I did not have another full meal. I ate a lot of snacks at the blood donor clinic (great way to get free food by the way–not healthy, but free), and promptly went to campus afterwards to work on a paper. I intended to go home and make a meal but mid-way through the night decided that it would be better to stay the course with the paper and just get something on campus because I had some spare money to use. Unfortunately, the Pizza Pizza on campus was closed down when I got there and since I had left all my stuff in the computer lab, I couldn’t venture off-campus, nor could I buy something at the other places on campus because none of the meal choices would have kept me within $7.50. I fault myself for bad planning, but also I was unlucky in that pizza pizza was randomly closed. When I finally got home (very late) I ate a snack and a banana as I was much too tired to make anything else (the fatigue likely brought on by donating blood and missing a meal). I did not plan well to eat today, however, for days like this it would be nice if I had an option on campus that I could eat a meal for a more reasonable price that would keep me under my $7.50 allowance. Today is a learning experience…I’ll work to not make that mistake again.
