Food For Thought: Day 15
Since today is a Monday, I had the chance to sleep in and get some much needed rest. This was a very good thing, because this cold is just sticking around – it does not want to go away. Of course, with sleeping in comes an odd eating schedule.
I grabbed a quick brunch around 11:30am or so, and one of the guys I live with was nice enough to drop me off at campus in time for my 12:30 class. After that I had a few meetings, worked on an assignment, and went over to our University Community Center to pop by our council office to check my mailbox and see how signups were going for interviews over the next few days.
While on my way up to the council office, I found out (well, I already knew but had forgotten) that it was Western’s Earth Day, so there was a Farmer’s Market of fresh local fruit and vegetables set up on the main floor. I checked out the produce, and eventually decided to go for a Golden Delicious apple. It definitely lived up to its name! Best $0.75 I’ve spent in a while, I think.
After that I headed down to see the results of our VP elections for next year. It didn’t turn out exactly how I had been hoping on all the fronts, but since I’m graduating I guess there’s a limit to how much I can complain.
I hadn’t been expecting to be on campus as late as I was, so I hadn’t packed a dinner. I stopped by our Dining Hall and picked up some simple items to round out a dinner until I could make it home to grab something else. As it turned out, I didn’t get home until much later than anticipated, so I was bit hungry by the time I arrived.
All in all today was a pretty good day – if I had known I was going to be on campus as late as I was, I probably would have packed some dinner, but sometimes things don’t turn out as we expect. I guess I’ll have to be a bit more cautious next time.
